Your Neighborhood Mechanic Shop

Your Neighborhood Mechanic Shop

by Susan Neuhalfen

The Kwik Kar in Lantana has reopened and is now so much more than just a place to get your oil changed. It’s the neighborhood mechanic’s shop, complete with full-time mechanics, techs and all the equipment needed to get your car in tip top working condition.

“Our goal was to make it a one stop shop,” said Moe Fawaz, the new owner of Kwik Kar Lantana. “We can offer all auto care services now, conveniently close to home.”

They kept the same great team of mechanics with Neal Bohannon managing the shop. Neal’s parents John and Johnna owned the shop but decided to retire. They couldn’t leave it to just anyone so they found a friend in Moe who already owned two Kwik Kar locations. He knew the best way to grow the business was to get Neal and his staff the equipment they needed to grow.

The first thing he did when he took over the business on March 10 was to add an alignment machine to fix suspension problems. They are also selling tires, the only shop in the Lantana area doing this. They try to match any price and, in many cases, beat the price of the big tire stores.

“It’s a matter of convenience,” Moe continued. “If you’re getting your car fixed and you need tires, you don’t want to have to go to two different places and take more time out of your day. You can get everything done here for the same or a lower price.”

They are already hiring new mechanics and staff so customers are not inconvenienced with wait times. The most important thing though, is to keep that hometown friendly atmosphere only found in a place like Lantana.

“Roughly 90% of our customers are our neighbors in Lantana and we want to make sure everyone leaves happy.”
